PLOT
A student wakes up in his classroom only to discover a terrifying phenomenon of biblical proportions: The sun has disappeared and people have suddenly started dying.
PRE - PRODUCTION
I started writing the script for the story on May 2nd, 2022.
One of my main inspirations was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's musical piece "Lacrimosa". While listening to this song I had a very clear sequence of images in my head: a lost man walking through the last moments of humanity.
I listened and listened to the song over and over again until I began to create a context for that sequence of images.
Due to this was a scholarly project, I only had 4 months to start and finish the short film, so while I was writing the script, I was also preparing the technical script for the short film, the storyboard, and the shooting schedule.
PRODUCTION
The production phase began on August 1st, 2022, the schedule of my team and I were to start filming at 7:30 pm and finish at 11:30 pm; we also used some of these hours for creating the foley.
All the short film was shot with a CANON EOS M200 camera.
I only had 14 days to shoot all the short film scenes.
POST - PRODUCTION
The production phase, as long as the post-production phase, was taken at the same time, once the shooting hours ended, I started working on the editing (audio and video) of the short film, I usually started working at 12:00 pm and finished at 2:30 am.
The deadline was supposed to be on August 24th, but it was delayed until August 26th, this was good news because it allowed me to make some final touches to the short film.
