PLOT
In 1984, London finds itself under the relentless oppression of a totalitarian government, where every movement, opinion, and thought is monitored and controlled.
In the midst of this, Winston Smith, a modest and tired worker, dares to question the reality imposed by the government. But his search for the truth will lead him down a dangerous path where rebellion and betrayal lurk around every corner.
From acclaimed writer George Orwell ("Burmese Days", "Animal Farm") comes "1984", a visionary dystopia where truth is a weapon and resistance is the last hope.
PRE - PRODUCTION
The idea of making this trailer came to me almost immediately after I finished reading the book.
I had been so fascinated by the world created by Orwell that I was looking to pay homage to him in some way. That's when I came up with the idea of making a trailer for the book similar to the trailers that are released in Japan when a new volume of a popular manga is published.
PRODUCTION
The production phase began on January 22, 2024.
At first, my vision was based on staying faithful to what was told in the book. Still, I decided to add original scenes to give the trailer's aesthetics an atmosphere of dark mysticism while showing the greatness and danger of Oceania.
All scenes were made in Blender, some rendered in Cycles, but most were rendered with the Eevee engine.
While doing the work in Blender, I accompanied myself with music whose atmosphere inspired me to have a clearer aesthetic of the scenes to be created.
POST - PRODUCTION
The post-production phase began on February 9, 2024.
All editing was done in DaVinci Resolve.
Some scenes had to be re-rendered, either to correct some poorly rendered details or to lengthen the length of the clip.
Likewise, the final trailer was rendered on three different occasions to correct details in color, sounds, and pacing.
The short film officially ended on February 19, 2024.
