What is the project about?
This is a challenge that I created for myself in order to develop my character design skills.
It consists of selecting four important/well-known historical characters and placing them into four different science-fiction worlds (the more random the better).
In this project, I show the result of this challenge.

NIKOLA TESLA
This is a character that I made by taking "Nikola Tesla" and setting him in a "Steampunk" world.

This was the character who pushed me to do this challenge. I was browsing the “Bioshock Infinite’s” homepage on Steam and there I saw a tag that caught my attention: “Steampunk”. I did not know what that tag meant, so I started searching on the internet and got inspired and fascinated by the aesthetic.
I wanted to create something with that aesthetic, so I came up with the idea of creating a character, and Nikola Tesla was just the right one because the "Steampunk" aesthetic reminds me a lot of him.
While I was drawing this character, I was listening to music that gave me "Steampunk vibes". Two of the tracks that I was listening to were "Chronos" by "Danimal Cannon", and "Steampunk Warlord" by "BOSSFIGHT".

MARIE CURIE
This is a character that I made by taking "Marie Curie" and setting her in a "Cyberpunk" world.

Inspiration
A few months ago, I drew Marie Curie as an anime character, but the final result was not completely to my liking, so taking advantage of this challenge, I wanted to make a second attempt.
This character design was a little complicated to create because I could not completely figure out what makes something look "Cyberpunk".
Some of my references for creating the clothes and the whole new image of Marie Curie were the video game “Cyberpunk 2077” and the film “Blade Runner 2049”.
Like the previous one, I listened to "Cyberpunk music" while drawing this character.
Some of the tracks I used were "The Rebel Path" by "P.T. Adamczyk" and "Disco Descent" by "Danny Baranowsky".

L.V. BEETHOVEN
This is a character that I made by taking Ludwig Van Beethoven and setting him in an Atompunk world.

This was, by far, the most complicated character I have done, not because it has a lot of detail or complex shapes, but because I could not find a style for the character that I liked.
And about Atompunk’s aesthetic itself, this is the aesthetic that appeals to me the least, but it has some interesting ideas though.
The references that I used for creating this character were the film "Back to the Future Part 2", the series of video games "Fallout", and the style of the members of the band "Daft Punk".
Two of the tracks that I was listening to while I was drawing this character were "Final Boss" by "Nitro Fun", and "Beethoven Virus" by "Diana".

FÜHRER ADOLF H.
This is a character that I made by taking "Adolf Hitler" and setting him in a "Dieselpunk" world.

Inspiration
One of the subgenres of science fiction that I could not completely understand was at the beggining was "Dieselpunk", which is a mix between "Steampunk" and "Atompunk", but without being one or the other. So, while I was searching for references and more information about this style, I found a video game called “Wolfenstein: The New Order” which is based on the "Dieselpunk" context. After playing the game I was fascinated by the whole aesthetic, which made me understand the "Dieselpunk" genre.
A few years ago I got interested in history, an interest which started with World War 2, so I took advantage of that fact and chose "Adolf Hitler" to put him in a "Dieselpunk" world.
Some of the references that I used for creating this version of "Hitler" were the video games "Wolfenstein: The New Order", "Wolfenstein: The New Colossus", and the TV series "The Man in the High Castle".
Also, while I was drawing, the tracks I was listening to for creating these "Dieselpunk vibes" on the character were the soundtrack of "Wolfenstein: The New Colossus" and the soundtrack of "DOOM: ETERNAL".

At first, the challenge was supposed to be for four characters only, but after I finished with the last one I still wanted to explore a few more genres.
So, I decided to pick two more characters and two more science fiction sub-genres, and the selected ones were the following:
